Pastoral Care

The care of the younger participants on the course is very well catered for, under the guidance of Liz Dewhurst, the summer school  ‘Youth co-ordinator’. Liz will be on hand to help all under 18’s settle in and make friends . A team of house parents (including the Artistic Director Murray McLachlan and his family) who are CRB cleared and have first aid training all help to make the week run smoothly. There is a bedtime 'signing-in' procedure and bedtimes are suggested to the different age ranges.

The school benefits from 24 hour security guards ensuring that everyone is safe and secure. Under 14's are not allowed out unless accompanied by an adult and 15 - 17 year olds  must go out in pairs.

A ‘sports co-ordinator’ will  organize activities for all the energetic participants and it is anticipated that gym circuits, aerobics, swimming, table tennis and football will be on the agenda –  all ages very welcome!

 

There are always many younger participants and in the words of one rather shy teenager  – ‘I’m so glad I plucked up courage to come – I just can’t believe how incredibly friendly everyone is. Please make sure everyone knows that you will be made very welcome. See you next year!’
