Organ - Now available on both parts of the course
This was my third "Chetham's" and I think I got even more from it than before, possibly due to my new focus this year on progressing my skills. I learned a huge amount in my lessons. Sally C
The Organ course was introduced in 2008 and has proved very popular. In 2019 lessons will now be available on both parts of the course due to demand. The course tutors are Christopher Stokes and Simon Passmore. Christopher was appointed Organist & Master of the Choristers of Manchester Cathedral in 1996. Christopher is head of Organ Studies at Chethamís School of Music. Simon joined the faculty in 2018 and is a member of staff at Chethamís and organist at St Anneís in Manchester.
Three hours of lessons, alongside performance workshops and the opportunity to practice in a dedicated organ room make this a stimulating, inspirational course. Beginners welcome, in addition to experienced players. If you are new to the organ please book a trial one hour lesson on the application form.
Subject to cathedral events it is hoped that participants will be able to play the brand new cathedral organ, generously sponsored by the Stoller Charitable Trust.
