Composers in Residence 2018In 2017 we welcomed John McLeod as the first composer in residence on the course. In 2018 we are delighted to welcome Emma-Ruth Richards (part one) and Mark Tanner (part two) in this role. Alongside individual teaching, they will each give a lecture and have 2 concerts on each week in the Stoller Hall. Alongside works for piano there will be works for voice, string quartet, piano trio, and solo clarinet. Not to be missed.
The composition course has always proved very popular and this year we welcome some very distinguished composers to the faculty. Participants who wish to study composition will have workshops, individual coaching and opportunities for performance.
If you have written any compositions please bring them along together with any recordings you may have. It would be helpful if you could bring manuscript paper, pencils, rubbers etc to the lessons.
In previous years some of the students on the course have had their works performed during the week, making their 'World premiere' very memorable for everyone.
