Gavin Wayte

Gavin Wayte teaches composition at Chetham's School of Music, Nottingham University and the RNCM Junior School. He studied at the University of Manchester and gained a PhD in Composition in 2007. His works are performed across the country, and his latest piece, Song, Dance, Lament for bass clarinet and cello, will be premiered in the North West Composer Focus festival at the RNCM in November. He is also active as a conductor and directed the Chetham's Sinfonia in the premiere of his orchestral piece Lowry Pictures in July.
