Chen Manchun is a CCM (Central Conservatory of Music) Middle School Professor and Principal of CCM's Primary School.
She first studied piano at the age of four with her mother, then at CCM's Primary and Middle Schools before studying under Prof. Zhou Guangren , Wu Yuan and Ling Yuan in CCM's Piano Dep. After earning a Master's Degree at CCM, she accepted a scholarship to continue studying in Madrid Spain with Prof Gabrielle.
She got the gold medal of the second “Golden Bell Award” the National Piano Competition, the “Ou Yongxi” Outstanding Music Education Award issued by the Ministry of Culture and the title of Outstanding Young Teachers by Beijing Municipal Education Commission, the funding of “Huang Yuanli” twice.
She has performed as a concert pianist in Tokyo Japan, Madrid, Spain and many cities in China, As well as performing as soloist with world class symphonic orchestras and a number of internationally renowned conductors. She is also a highly sought after educator and lecturer, as she has given public lectures all across China, and was a lecturer on CCTV's "Music Tell You" Tv series. She was a judge for the 9th Tchaikovsky International Youth Piano Competition, as well as a judge in several other acclaimed piano competitions. She also published personal piano recital album.
Her students have won the top three awards in various competitions at home and abroad. Such as: Third prize of Gina Bachauer International Piano Competition in US, first prize of Liszt International Piano Competition in Russia, St. Petersburg International Piano Competition in Russia, Canto International Piano Competition in Italy, Kaufman International Youth Piano Competition in New York, Kulangsu Piano Competition in China, and Osaka International Music Competition in Japan. Many students enrolled in well known music schools, including: Germany- Hanover School of Music, the United States- Curtis Institute of Music, The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, and etc.
