Hazel Fanning - sightreading
NB Hazel is working with the young pianists every day in the workshops and is not available to teach on a one to one basis.
Hazel Fanning studied piano with Danish professor Sven Weber and later with Sulamita Aronovsky, formerly of the Moscow Conservatoire, and cello with Czech professor Raphael Sommer at the RNCM, winning several festival 1st prizes including the Ashworth Cup.
She now teaches extensively and is a visiting tutor at Chetham's, Manchester University and the RNCM Junior School.
In January 2000 she became the Manchester representative for the Victoria College of Music examining board in London.
Her continuing interest in Russian began at the RNCM's School of Languages, and other interests include dance (having 2 silver medals), Russian Literature, and live concerts. She also has a green belt in Karate.
